Water. Our best friend. Water is essential for our lives. We all have heard that we have drink a lot of water. Especially during summer when it is literally boiling.
However, we sometimes forget to drink or drink insufficient amount of water. I also do not drink enough water which brigs consequences. Headache or thirst. These are usually the first signs of not drinking enough water.
Our intake of water includes (just for notion)
- beverages: 1 400 ml
- food: 700 ml
- metabolism: 200 ml

That´s quite appealing how much water we intake from food. Of course, it should not be our only source of water but it is not negligible. Here is an example how much water different types of food contain.

We can see that there is some food that contains a lot of water. It is not surprising that cucumber is a great source of water. But what amazed me is that yogurt and bread also contain considerable amount of water. Still we have to consume water from beverages.
I do not prefer soft drink or carbonated beverage. I usually drink tap water. Because tap water may contain various metal ions or chlorine I sometimes use water filter. I do not use it all the time because I think that an essential minerals might also be filtered out.
Water does not have tang. Therefore I add fruit into water. I also put chia seed into water. I think that it has became popular to add fruit into water. First, I was not sure why people did it. I have read somewhere that it should detox your body or something but I don´t know if it is true. I add fruit into water because it tastes like fruit :D And it is nice change when you all the time drink only drinking water.
I use all types of fruit which I put into water. It is recommended to let fruit in the water over the night. It is true only for some types of fruit. Last time I used apricot and nectarine and its taste in the next day was weird. It did not taste like apricot or nectarine. So I put fruit into water, wait for 10 minutes and I am ready to drink it. It tastes much better and also like apricot. When I want strong taste of water I add mint into water.

And how much water do we need?
30 - 35 ml/kg of your weight/day
